Who's Behind Innoversity

Cynthia Reyes

Cynthia Reyes
Co-founder and
Acting Chair

Cynthia Reyes is co-founder of Innoversity. She is also vice-president of DiversiPro Inc, a full-service management consulting practice with a special interest in diversity.

Coming from "the world's most multicultural family", Reyes took an early interest in the stories of her extended family's roots. This curiosity about other people and their stories likely influenced her career choice. In her early teens, she started her career as a newspaper writer. After graduating from university, she worked as a television journalist, and then became a producer-director and executive producer in the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Her work attracted many industry honours.

Since 1990, Reyes has trained other journalists, producers, managers and whole teams. In the mid-90's, she turned to organizational development and worked as a consultant on several large-scale projects. Her projects have taken her across Canada, and to Asia, Africa, the USA, Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Reyes has developed television programs, coached teams and their leaders, and helped senior managers to develop new strategies and plans for their organizations. Her clients have included TV networks and other corporations, cultural and service organizations as well as not-for-profit groups.

In 2000, Reyes and partner Hamlin Grange started their consulting firm, DiversiPro Inc. They launched Innoversity soon after.

Reyes serves on the board of Innoversity, Women in Film and Television - Toronto, Women in Media Foundation, and is the former president of both the international INPUT board and the Black Business and Professional Association.
