John Monahan
Executive Director, Mosaic Institute
John Monahan has been the Executive Director of the Mosaic Institute since 2008. Prior to joining the Institute, John was the Director of the Province of Ontario’s global network of trade and representation offices with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Earlier in his career, he served as Ontario’s representative in New York City; practised labour, employment and immigration law with the Toronto office of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP; and was a policy advisor on economic immigration to the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship. John’s community work has included serving on the Steering Committee for the 2010 World Religions Summit, the Board of Directors of the Toronto Dance Theatre, the Board of Directors of the Project People Foundation (New York), and the Executive Committee of the Toronto Chinese Community Services Association. He holds a BA and JD from the University of Toronto, and an MPA from Dalhousie University. He has also completed studies at the Université des Sciences Humaines in Strasbourg, France, and at the law faculty of the Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris.
