Ben Chin to host the Opening Ceremony at the 2005 Innoversity Creative Summit!
Ben Chin recently joined the Office of Premier Dalton McGuinty as a Senior Media Advisor. He brings 16 years of broadcast journalism experience to public service, having worked as a reporter and anchor on the local and national level.
Ben began his career at CityTV in Toronto in 1989 where he broke several news stories, including the Maple Leaf Gardens sex-abuse scandal. He also covered high-profile stories including the trials of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka and the 1992 U.S. Presidential Campaign of Bill Clinton.
After a year as CTV News Atlantic Bureau Chief, Ben became a news anchor at CBC News and CBC Newsworld. Over five years, Ben hosted many programs, including Saturday Report and Canada Now – Toronto. He also guest-anchored The National, and anchored several live breaking news specials including the aftermath of 9/11, the war in Afghanistan, the attack on Kosovo, and the tainted water scandal in Walkerton.
In 2003, Ben helped launch Toronto 1 (Sun TV), the first new conventional TV station in Toronto in over 30 years.

Innoversity is pleased to announce musician, writer and broadcaster Jian Ghomeshi as host of this year's Awards Ceremony!
Jian is a musician, writer and broadcaster on CBC Television and Radio. He is currently a regular columnist on the prime-time Newsworld program THE HOUR. He has been the host of the national arts & culture program >play on CBC Newsworld for past 3 years, as well as The Great Canadian Music Dream and various documentaries on CBC TV. Most recently, Jian has also been the host of the wildly popular 50 TRACKS national radio series on CBC Radio 1 and 2 and a regular guest host on the flagship program, Sounds Like Canada.
Jian first came to Canada’s attention as a singer, instrumentalist and songwriter in the multi-platinum selling folk-rock group, Moxy Früvous and is currently working on his first solo album. He has written for or appeared on numerous shows including CBS Sunday Morning, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, CNN Showbiz Today, NPR’s All Things Considered, CBC’s The National and the Juno Awards. His editorials have been published in the Sunday Washington Post, The International Herald Tribune and the Globe and Mail. Jian takes pride in his Iranian heritage as well as his Canadian citizenship. He holds a degree in Political Science and History.
