Media and Diversity Converge on Toronto
At the 2006 Innoversity Summit
TORONTO, Oct. 19 /CNW/ - Hundreds of film and television professionals
who work - or want to break onto the Canadian media scene will be flocking to
Toronto for the fifth annual Innoversity Summit.
This two-day intensive Summit provides the ultimate platform for emerging
and established media professionals to connect with key broadcasters.
Some of Canada's best and brightest media executives, communications
specialists, journalists, writers, documentary and television producers,
filmmakers, directors, actors, artists, and cultural entrepreneurs all gather
together and thrive in an environment celebrating innovation, creativity and
diversity.
Here's what some of the pro's had to say about last year's Summit:
"I've never felt such a feeling of warmth and community at a conference
before."
Malcolm Gladwell, Writer, The New Yorker magazine
"Innoversity has played an increasingly important role in helping to
engage a diverse community of emerging producers and writers, and
connecting them with broadcasters across the country."
Barb Williams, Senior Vice President, Programming and Production Global
Television
"I am happy I had the opportunity to attend the Innoversity Summit.
I hope in the future more people from different ethnic cultures and
differently able persons (like myself) will be able to find themselves
in front of or behind the camera in the Canadian film industry."
Ken Thomas, 2005 CHUM Innoversity Scholarship Recipient
