Over and over again, we hear that diversity is good for companies. It makes them stronger - better connected, more productive and more innovative. Oh really? It turns out that for many of us, being inclusive goes against the grain. Dr. Alison Konrad, professor of organizational development at the Richard Ivey School of Business and a DiversiPro associate, has written a seminal paper explaining why diversity and inclusion take work... and why it's worth it. DiversiPro proudly presents Dr. Alison Konrad, as she takes Summit participants (managers) through the challenges and solutions of diversity.
Dr. Konrad will also be joined by a special guest, CBC Radio's Regional Director Susan Marjetti, who will talk firsthand about how leveraging diversity - and overcoming challenges - has strengthened her CBC Radio programs and teams.

Resistance to cultural diversity initiatives challenges the most seasoned leader. One reason is that diversity leaders lack the skills needed to manage emotional reactions to cultural diversity programs. This two-part workshop provides an overview of how "Cultural EQ", a fundamental part of cultural diversity leadership competence, is a critical skill for effectively realizing the diversity initiative.
The workshop will benefit organizational leaders, human resource officers, diversity managers, organizational development specialists, training professionals, and student services professionals. Part One provides an overview of cultural EQ leadership; in Part Two, participants will learn basic skills and put them into practice.
