Cheryl May, Executive Director, Skills for Change
Cheryl will moderate “People-Led Policy” at 11am on October 26th Cheryl has over 20 years of development experience in both the non-profit and private sectors. Her progressive career path has given her a broad and unique skill set, and reflects her ability to have a positive, lasting impact on projects and people. She joined Skills for Change as executive director in 2010. Prior to joining Skills for Change, Cheryl was practice lead for social innovation at MaRS Discovery District. As an advisor to hundreds of social entrepreneurs, she helped them to turn their ideas into sustainable social ventures. She also worked on several social finance and social technology projects and led the feasibility study the School for Social Entrepreneurs in Canada. During her tenure as executive director for Findhelp Information Services,she led the development of national infrastructure for 211, established 211 in Ontario, and built Findhelp’s 211 Toronto service as a centre of excellence in North America.
