Presenter – Karen Sun

Karen SunKaren is speaking in “Representation & Influcence” on October 25th.

Karen Sun is an environmental and social activist. She is a John Bousfield Distinguished Visitor in Planning at the University of Toronto. For the past 5 years she has served as the Executive Director of the Chinese Canadian National Council Toronto Chapter. Prior to her work in the Chinese Canadian community Karen worked for many years in the environmental sector with a focus on conservation and ecological restoration. She currently volunteers on the boards of Heritage Toronto, the Working Women Community Centre, the Conservation Council of Ontario and the Foundation to Commemorate Chinese Railroad Workers in Canada. In 2009, in recognition of her contributions as a rising leader in the city, she was awarded a DiverseCity Fellowship by the Toronto City Summit Alliance and Maytree Foundation. In 2010, Karen was a candidate for Toronto City Council in Ward 19 Trinity Spadina. She holds a Baccalaureate in Environmental Sciences and a Masters in Planning.
